About Me

I am an avid reader, writer, and learner. After earning my B.A. in Classical Civilization from Mary Washington College along with my Virginia teaching license in 2003, I became a teacher. I taught second and third grade in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, for four years. I then moved to Fairfax County and taught third and fourth grade both in the Advanced Academic Center and the general program at an elementary school there. It was during this time that I became aware of the great need for skilled teachers and advocates for gifted students. I also became aware of my own need for further study in order to serve these students to the very best of my ability. That is what brought me to the College of William and Mary to pursue my M.A.Ed. Now that I am at the close of my graduate school experience, I look forward to working with both students and teachers to ensure that every child can learn something new at school every day.
